Units that use Technology heading

This website is a collaborative effort between the Special Education Department at the University of South Carolina and the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department's Computer Training Center. The mission of this project is to assist teachers by developing curriculum units that incoporate technology, and making the units available for use on the World Wide Web. The technology is utilized in several forms:

  • Software that the students use to complete assignments or use for drill and practice
(ie... Microsoft Office Products, Kidspiration, Freeware/Shareware, KidPix Deluxe)
  • Hardware and Software that the teacher can use to present concepts and ideas
  • Hardware and Software that can be used as assistive devices/tools for inclusion
  • Links to Websites for the teacher and students

The Collaboration

The curriculum units are developed by students from the University of South Carolina as part of their course work. All submissions are under the supervision of Dr. Cheryl Wissick, Special Education Department, University of South Carolina. The transformation of the finished units into a web-based format is performed by students from the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department's Computer Training Center under the supervision of Cathie Russell.
