Lesson 1: "What is our Earth Made of?" Using Kidspiration, the students will identify the layers of the Earth and write compound sentences describing the composition of the layers.
Lesson 2: "Ring of Fire" The students will use Trackstar to complete an Independent activity about the lithosphere and tectonic plates.

Lesson 3: "Volcanoes" After viewing pictures of volcanoes from the laser disk, students will use their knowledge of parts of speech and write complete sentences about the pictures they saw.
Lesson 4: "Structure of a volcano" Students will display knowledge of the structure of a volcano and important vocabulary using Kidworks software.

Lesson 5: "Typesof Volcanoes" Using Microsoft Pulisher, students will display knowledge of different types of volcanoes by taking facts and writing complete sentences.
Lesson 6: "Types of Eruptions" Students will become familiar with different types of eruptions and how they affect the volcano's shape after using ERUPT3 software to view a computer simulation.

Lesson 9: "Death and Recovery" Students use Timeline to graphically show the life of a tree using ring data.
Lesson 10: "Before, During, and After Mount St. Helens" Students research on the web and write about before,during, and after Mount St. Helens.
